The Tower

This time the card is the Tower, the execution of which by our artist is very much not a disaster. I fact this is another of our favourite designs; we love the dynamism of David Ledesma's tiny falling mages and the horde of scurrying rats.
Card Meaning
The card is usually read as meaning Disaster, Upheaval, Revelation or Awakening. It is linked to perception and forewarning of disaster as well as to the crisis itself and this link to perception is the main mechanical driver of the card.
The card is usually a negative answer when drawn during a Yes/No query. However it might be a Yes if relating to a revelation or a new business opportunities.
Setting Specific Design
The art on this card shows the Bastion of the Camerilla, a tower in the Sabrian capital city of Merona. In the world of the Collegia Magica novels this tower is the base of the Preceptorate, an inquisition-like council of mages who rule over the other trained magic users and police the infractions of untrained ones on behalf of the King. The card represents a magical disaster befalling this tower of strength.
Mechanical Impact
The revelation and upheaval aspects can relate to the volatile nature of trade and commerce; as such when drawn during character creation the card relates to the medieval roles surrounding trade, such as Artisan, Merchant or Moneylender.
When Played: The Tower doubles the Face Value of all Coins suited cards in the Meld.
