Card Meaning
Unsurprisingly the card Judgement relates directly to the idea of Considered Decisions, but also to Absolution/Punishment and sometimes the concept of Rebirth, or a last chance.
In a Yes/No query the card usually means “Yes”, due to its association with an additional chance at success.
Setting Specific Design
The design of this card uses the desaturated palate from the other death and afterlife related cards, rather than the bold stain glass colours found in the majority of the deck. We asked David Ledesma to use this alternative palate to ensure that all of the cards with links to the Purgatory of Ixtador, from Berg's Novels, were visually linked in the deck. The temple design here mirrors the delta pi symbol used in the religious iconography of Sabria, whilst the lost souls here make a last ditch effort to pass through one of the ten gates to paradise before they run out of time and vitality.
Mechanical Impact
During character generation the medieval roles the card may be related to include Inquisitor, Torturer, Spy or Pardoned Criminal.
Mechanically this card is wild for mundane characters and when drawn you may repeat any other draws you made as part of this action. Choose one of these two sets of drawn cards to keep (alongside this card) and reshuffle the other set into your deck.
